The Car:

Fugy is a 9-second 1961 Plymouth Savoy that races in the Factory Experimental (FX) Class of category of drag racing called Nostalgia Super Stock (NSS). In a nutshell, NSS is a category that very much emulates the Super Stock racing of the early 1960s. Fugly is powered by a 499ci (stroked Mopar 400) motor built by the owner/Driver, and is one of only four cars in NSS using a Jerico 4-speed and Boninfante Clutch.

Fugly-Racing Rotating Assemblies for Mopar Engines

Fugly-Racing also sells HIGH QUALITY rotating assemblies. We offer Eagle and Callies Crankshafts; Ross, JE, Weisco, Diamond, and Speed Pro Pistons; Eagle, Scat, and BME Rods;  JE and Total Seal Rings; and Clevite, Speed Pro, Bearings -- to name a few.

There are so many options and combinations that all can't be listed, although they can all be had. We have listed the more popular kits that can be shipped immediately below. We sell high quality rotating assemblies at inexpensive 'Racer Net' Prices. There is a big difference between cheap and inexpensive rotating assemblies. Fugly-Racing doesn't sell cheap parts. Cheap engine parts are like cheap tools. A cheap socket will round off a nut or bolt head when put under a certain amount of force -- and cheap parts can damage an engine when used in high performance applications.

We cater to the high performance and racing crowd looking for quality at an inexpensive price. In an engine -- a cheap part failing will most often cause a chain reaction of carnage to other parts in the motor. Cheap parts will often cost you your savings with the extra machining required -- and the end result is expensive cheap parts.

Yes, there are places selling Generic rotating assemblies (less the required bearings and rings) for $1,299 -- but frankly, we won't use certain brands or no-names in the engines we build -- and we choose not to put our reputation on the line by selling  them to others. While we don't want to appear to sell our products by knocking those of others, we do want you to later not regret buying quality. There is a big difference, and an educated consumer doing his homework will find that quality doesn't really cost -- it saves. Talk with machinists who do a lot of balancing of Mopar rotating assemblies, and ask if they feel there is a difference.

The reasons you will find for the variations between the various packages listed below has to do with the brands of pistons, rods, cranks, rings, and bearings. Some of the manufacturers cater to certain displacements -- while other manufacturers focus on another. Certain brands of pistons will only come in limited over-bores -- so email us if the overbore you need isn't listed.

The street engine packages typically have Hypereutectic pistons, Eagle SIR rods for small blocks, Scat and Eagle H-Beams for Big Block, and Eagle cast cranks (where applicable). In some cases those aren't made for certain displacements and forged is substituted.

The race engine packages have forged pistons, rods, and cranks (where applicable) and file fit rings. Some piston sizes are custom and the larger displacements require a Callies crank.
